Sing-A-Long Schedule

Here is the schedule for the sing-a-longs this year:

13th: Faculty

14th: 5th Grade

17th: 4th Grade

18th: 2nd Grade

19th: 1st Grade

20th: Kindergarten

21st: 3rd Grade

They are each from 9:10-about 9:25 AM

Christmas Giving Back

This year, the school is once again participating in a couple of different ways to give back to the community this year. 

Toys For Tots is sponsored by the US Marines. I like what Principal Dobson said, "I don't believe that it is important how much you give, and I would not ask you to strain your budget. But I do believe that it is important to give something. Our children need to see that we truly do care and that it's not just words. We can take action."

For the children Toys For Tots helps out, even just an inexpensive toy can make a huge difference. If you can, have your child help you choose a toy to donate this year. I know there are things my family can cut out (like one pizza night) to be able to easily participate in this toy drive. Like Anne Frank said, "No-one has ever become poor by giving."

Toys should not be gift wrapped but should be in the original packaging.

Another way to help is to participate in the food drive for the Logan Food Pantry. You can participate by donating non-perishable food items. Even just one item is great!

Finally, you can help with spare change. 

All donations need to be in by the 21st of December.

Maceys Receipts

The final date for turning in receipts is December 14.

What you do is simply turn in any receipts you have from shopping at Maceys. Then Maceys gives money to our school to help with school activities. This is such a simple way to help get money for the activities our children love.

Spirit Day Reminder

Remember that spirit day is every Friday! One day each month, the PTO will give out a treat to students who are decked out in navy blue. Wear your Wolfcub gear or something navy blue.

We raised 2,900 in the fundraiser! Thanks so much to everyone who participated!

Read-a-Thon

Time to collect your donations!

Money packets are due November 15 and need to be returned for your student to participate in the minute to win it party!

Fundraiser!

It is time for our annual fundraiser! The fundraiser helps to pay for many great things at the school for our students.

This year, we hope to raise $6,000.

See your child's fundraiser packet for more information. It should have come home with your child by now. We are doing a read-a-thon, so be sure to be tracking all of your reading minutes each day starting today!

Friday is Spirit Day

Mark your calendars, put a reminder in your phones, tell your children...whatever you do to remember--every Friday is Spirit Day at Wellsville Elementary.

Show your spirit by wearing school colors. You can wear your spirit shirt or any navy blue shirt you have. On random Fridays, the PTO will visit the school and give a prize for those wearing their shirts. Only those with shirts will get the prize and it will be on a random Friday, so be prepared by wearing it every Friday!

Fluoride Orders Due Tomorrow

Reminder that fluoride orders are due September 7. Sigh-ups are in the office. The cost is 4 dollars per child. Cash only. You cannot sign up after tomorrow, so make sure you do it if you are interested.

Spirit Shirts

We are starting a fun new tradition this year. We want every Friday to be spirit day. On this day, students can wear school colors to show school spirit.

A fun way to do this is with Spirit Shirts.Each student was given an order form to take home last week to order shirts. Extra order forms are in the school's main office.

Shirt orders are due Friday, Sept. 7, 2012.

Order forms need to be turned in to the PTO box in the school's main office. Ask Jill where it is if you do not know.

Delivery

Shirts will be here between September 14-21. All shirts ordered back to school night and by Friday, September 7 will be here in that time frame (this is due to a reordering fee that is charged every time the PTO turns in a new order it was decided to combine the orders from back to school night with the first 2 weeks of school and the order will be turned in this Friday).

Shirts will be delivered to the classroom of the student/teacher they list on the order form. 

Future Orders

The PTO will be at the 1st parent teacher conferences in October, where again available items can be purchased and orders forms can be taken/or turned in. So you can just do a T-shirt now for fall and longer shirts/sweatshirts for winter then.

This is the Wellsville Elementary PTO blog! We hope to help keep you all up to date and informed of what is going on with the PTO at our school. We have many exciting programs that are made possible by donations of time and money. Thank you all for all you do!

First Day of School

The first day of school will be Thursday, August 23 for 1-5 graders. The first day of school will be Thursday, August 30 for K.
