Wellsville Elementary Western Night

We are excited to introduce a new tradition at our school! We will be having a Western Night. There will be square dancing with a professional caller/teacher. Refreshments will be served. This is a father/daughter and a mother/son event. If you have need of a different partner (mom or dad isn't available or you have two children attending at the same time), you can invite someone such as a neighbor, grandparent, friend, or aunt.

August Dates to Know

It is almost time to go back to school! While that might fill you with dread or joy (or a little of both!), you can't stop its coming. Here are some important dates to be aware of this month.

AUGUST 13: Moving Day!
The teachers and staff hope to do their final move in on August 13. They do not have a start time yet. Even for those who have moved in, they will love help getting things set up.

AUGUST 22: Back to School Night
This is the night to come meet your teachers and get familiar with the new school. You will also be able to sign up for fluoride treatments at the school this year, buy our new t-shirt for this school year, pre-order yearbooks, and pay for school lunches. In other words, cash or check recommended :). We sell t-shirts at a discounted rate on back to school night. Prices go up after this night. The image above is our shirt this year. Watch for more information on this night to come in the mail.

On this night, you will also pick up a packet with various important information. Included from the PTO important dates and events to know for the year, information on the various PTO programs, a volunteer form for you to fill out if you would like to be involved in any of the PTO events this year, and the announcement of the musical we will be performing this year!

AUGUST 24: First Day of School!
This is the first day of school for children 1-6.

AUGUST 29: PTO Board Meeting
At our school, we have a Parent Teacher Organization. Being a PTO means every parent/gaurdian of a student at Wellsville Elementary is automatically a part of the PTO. There are no dues of any kind. You are welcome to come to any meetings and offer your input and vote on things. Meetings will happen monthly on the fourth Monday. Be sure to consult your calendar magnet the PTO has created to give to you as a gift to see meeting dates, or you can always check this blog.

AUGUST 31: First Day of Kindergarten!
This is the first day of school for kindergarten children.
